IT'S SEPTEMBER! As I sit to write this newsletter, during this, our tenth year at the Mount Battie, I am wondering where the season went. Kids are back to school, and a major storm has hit Texas and one is about to hit Florida. We hope all those in the path of Irma stay safe. (We have special disaster relief rates. If you are in the path of Irma & need a place to stay, call us 207.236.3870) Apple picking season starts next week. In Maine, we have less than 2 months left to our season, but they are 2 of the most beautiful months of the year. Right now, the weather is amazing. We are even expecting close to 80 degrees early next week. The sun rises a little later and sets a little earlier, but if you are planning a visit for the tenth time or the first, this is the time to do it. Come enjoy the most beautiful time of the year. Mid Coast Maine, particularly here, where the mountains meet the sea, is the most beautiful part of of Maine. The schooners are still out everyday, the golf is fantastic, apple picking season begins next week, The gorgeous sand beach just down the road is waiting for your barefoot walk. The shops and great restaurants are less busy, and the lobster is the best of the season. Peak leaf season is expected around the 2nd week in October. If the nights are a bit chilly, our fire pit, overlooking Penobscot Bay, awaits. If I haven't given you enough reasons to come to Maine, perhaps our September Specials will entice you: Stay one night and get the second night half price or stay 3 nights and get the 4th free. (Not to be combined with any other offers or specials. All nights must be during the same stay.) Ed & I would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who came to stay with us during this, our tenth year as owners of the Mount Battie. It is a special season for us and we hope we made your stay just as special. WISH YOU WERE HERE Ed & Christine P.S. Drop us a line, please have a wander around our new website and let us know what you think. And if you wouldn't mind, pass this newsletter to your friends. Thanks.
